Together We Can Do The Job!

Wyoming Kinship Advocacy facilitates relative caregiver support through an experienced staff who are grandparents raising grandchildren by offering confidential information and referrals. Assistance includes support groups, monthly training meetings, educational support, health issues, mental health concerns, and child care needs. The desired outcome is the adjustment, positive growth, development and encouragement to sufficiency and success of kinship caregivers and their minor children.

"To create a safe environment which will assure that families will have successful access to all needed resources at the community level obtained through a respectful and dignified process."

Kinship Care Defined

Any living arrangement in which minor children live with neither of their parents, but are cared for by a relative.

Kinship Care Eligibility

The only requirement to get assistance accessing information is that you are raising children who are kin.

"In November of 2010, Wyoming Kinship Advocacy joined the Wyoming Citizen’s Review Panel.  The mission statement of the Citizens Review Panel is “To review procedures throughout the state, offering summaries and recommendations for improvements benefiting children and families.”  This mission fits with the mission of WYKA “To create a safe environment t
hat will ensure that families will have successful access to all needed resources at the community level, obtained through a respectful and dignified process."
